JOB TITLE: Security Ink Research &r; Development Director

JOB DESCRIPTION: Lead team of scientists in research, development and analysis of security inks and coatings for lottery tickets, banknotes, passports, credit cards and other security documents. Source, study and analyze the composition of different chemical raw material elements essential to the development of existing inks and new ink formulations. Examine the structures, reactions, physical properties, chemical properties of raw material substances, with specific regards to finished security inks and varnishes. Plan, develop and execute complex formulation projects related to the development of new security inks including conducting and supervising pilot scale batches, supervising trials at customer locations within the U.S. Conduct extensive review of trial results and will address, adjust and develop any modifications based on customer requirements and needs, with specific attention to security ink testing methods and procedures. Write technical reports for new formulations for technical management team. Assessing costs of raw materials for existing formulations and determining alternatives for new formulations. Supplier / vendor interaction to source new raw materials for alteration of new and existing formulations to maintain performance consistency.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job requires a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and 3 years of experience in research, development and formulation of security inks and coatings specific for lottery ticket production, banknotes, passports, any monetary document and security documents. Must have prior experience in flexo, intaglio, rotogravure and silkscreen ink research, development and formulas. Must have prior knowledge of handling solvent based, water base, ultraviolet and electron beam curing inks and security coatings. Must be proficient in security ink and coating research and development.
